Westchester K-9 Dog Training Beliefs

Westchester K-9 dog obedience trainers believe that all dogs training and owners should be treated as individuals, that every home we enter and every dog we meet are different. With this belief comes the idea that different dog training techniques apply to different dogs, behaviors and homes. We also feel that your dog should be treated as part of the family. Our philosophy focuses on training a dog to understand right from wrong using positive motivational techniques to insure a proper fit into your family.

We do not use food training for dogs; we believe that love and praise work just as well or better when used properly to let your dog know when he has done the right thing. We believe in proper dog care and that you should never scare or threaten your dog into doing what you want him to do. Dog obedience training should be fun so it is enjoyed by everyone!

We will help you with puppy training, dog manners, good dog behavior and give him a structured life with a clear understanding of what's expected. Dogs with structure and clear rules to follow are less likely to be insecure, stressed and confused - all states that can lead to inappropriate behavior. When your dog knows you're his leader, knows what the rules are and knows those rules are going to be enforced, he will feel safe, happy and secure. And so will you! We look forward to teaching your dog to be the most well behaved dog on the block!
